About the Therapist Susan B. Lieberman, Hon. B.A., D.C.S
Susan Lieberman is a graduate of the Assessment and Counselling program at the University of Toronto's Institute of Child Study. She is an individual, couple and family therapist who also specializes in family mediation and custody and access assessments. Susan is a qualified
expert in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Susan combines her training in mediation and psychoeducational assessments with a broad range of work experience in solution-focussed therapy, family systems and cognitive therapy. This background allows her to provide clients with a unique and innovative approach to treatment. Susan works with other professionals in a range of contexts in order to reach a larger and more diverse client population. She has presented various "Lunch & Learns" at the law firm of Goodman and Carr and at the Toronto Dominion Bank located in the TD tower. As well, she maintains a private practice in Toronto with special emphasis on the treatment of family problems, adolescent and adult depression, children with A.D.D. and marital problems. She has experience working in settings such as community agencies, schools, shelters, residential programs and hospitals. Susan also provides parent support counselling around issues such as mealtime, bedtime and morning routines, child development, and dealing with the teenage years. She conducts training workshops at local schools, organizations, day care centers, private homes and in her private practice. Workshops such as "Positive Disciplining," "Sibling Rivalry" and "How to Support your Child through Separation and Divorce," have been enthusiastically received throughout Toronto. Professional membership includes the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists, Family Mediation Canada and the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. Susan is also a public speaker in her field and has been a guest speaker at the York Region Separate School Board and on local radio shows. She has also appeared as a guest on Breakfast Television and Balance Television.Susan is married with two young delightful children.
